Party Theme: Tea Party

Looking for a twist on ladies brunch? Need a theme for an upcoming bridal shower? Just itching for an occasion to wear your large sun hat? It’s time for tea! With Spring Time in the air & the Kentucky Derby coming up, Itty Bitty was compelled to put together an inspiration board for a tea party. A day in the sun with dainty desserts, fancy serving wear & a spot of tea. I say!

Let the table be the focus of your decor: lay out some vintage plates, ornate silverware, three-tiered dessert trays & tea cups for your guests. The serving ware can set the tone for a festive get-together all on its own. If you’re in need of ideas for party favors, try handing out some tea from a local vendor. Personalize the bags by creating little tags with everyone’s name written & attached. What kind of snacks should you provide? Serve itty bitty crust-less finger sandwiches & dainty petite fours. Anthropologie has a wonderfully elaborate Tea Chandelier if you feel your space needs a little extra pizzazz.

Party Tips:

Replace the lettuce in your finger sandwiches with watercress. This very popular English staple will instantly fancify your spread & give a peppery crunch to your dish!

Ask guests to arrive wearing fascinators, it will bring a fun garden party vibe to the group. Encourage them to make their own!

Tea doesn’t have to be hot! Brew tea in a variety of flavors hot & iced.

Happy Sipping!
