Last weekend we had the pleasure of spending a day at The Saguaro hotel in Palm Springs. We just have to share all the amazing details with you! At the beginning of the month, we had mentioned going on vacation which was a much needed getaway. Last weekend, we organized a networking retreat & even though there was work involved, it felt like a mini vacation. Retreat Yourself 2012!
The weekend was spent networking, brainstorming & collaborating with some of our favorites: Donna Queza – Marketing Optimist, Nailah Blades of Polka Dot Coaching, & Erin of Well in L.A. (a big thank you to Erin for introducing us to the hotel staff!). And we must say that we were more than lucky to have two phenomenal photographers with us to document the whole trip! Janet of Love Janet & Christina of Christina Dely Photography managed to catch all the great moments of our retreat! We won’t lie to you, all of these women are amazing.
After some time spent learning & listening to insightful speeches & business advice, we headed over to The Saguaro hotel. What a hotel! Bright vibrant colors line both the interior & exterior of the property. The 14 colors included in their palette are intended to evoke happiness. Let us tell you, this hotel is full of happy patrons. The 14 colors used throughout the hotel are found within the 14 desert flowers that bloom within Palm Springs. Daily yoga, aqua fitness and wellness classes are available to guests at the hotel. The property is also pet friendly! On our tour, we were told designers from New York were brought in to bring color back to the hotel industry. The interior design & layout are meant to convey an atmosphere that is: Colorful, Energetic, Playful, Refreshing & Sensual.
After a dip in the pool while grooving to an amazing on-site DJ, we grabbed a bite at El Jefe. This is the cantina style restaurant inside the hotel featuring small plates & over 100 types of tequila & mezcal. Hands down, this was the most amazing food we’ve ever eaten. Two words: Queso Fundido. Translation: amazing hot melty cheeses with duck & poblano chiles. Pure magic. Jose Garces, the newest addition to Iron Chef America, was brought in to revamp the food program to set The Saguaro apart from the crowd. Chef Garces has an amazing knack for the flavors of Mexican street food with the presentation of a 5 star restaurant. Check out their tapas & wine bar, Tinto!
We cannot thank the staff at The Saguaro enough! Itty Bitty will definitely be back & we highly recommend checking-in if you’re headed to Palm Springs. Ask us about the their wedding packages if you want a venue that will set your wedding apart from any you’ve ever attended. With 8 different locations on site to hold a ceremony or reception, convenient lodging for guests and several menus of Jose Garces’ creations to choose from who wouldn’t want to get married here?
