Don’t Forget the Groom!

We love brides, but we also love grooms! Take a peek and see if you agree with our predictions for groom trends for the upcoming 2013 wedding season.

Sweet Kicks – Unconventional shoes not only offer comfort, but add a personal touch to a groom’s suit. Wether it’s sneakers, Toms, a nautical boat shoe or Chucks…the possibilities are endless!

Colorful Socks – Grooms that want to stick the with traditional footwear can still add some pizazz to their ensemble. Brightly colored socks add a fun pop of color! Try matching the wedding color pallet, patterned socks, argyle, favorite childhood cartoon character or superhero. Have fun with it!

Whiskey Bar – Something about men and their smokey whiskeys, they go hand in hand. During the cocktail hour, offer several types of whiskeys (or even Scotch) for sipping. Have everyone get their Don Draper on or offer small pads of paper to take notes on which is their favorite. This could be as simple as a DIY station or you could ask your hired bartenders for help with the selection.

Grooms on Pinterest (yes, you read that correctly) – More & more grooms are joining Pinterest to tell the world what kind of accents they’d like to see at their wedding. We love a groom who gets involved with the planning.

Personalized/Monogrammed Ties – Not only will a custom tie look stunning on the Mr., these will make great groomsmen gifts that are personalized and close to the heart.

Cigar Station – During the reception, the addition of a manly cigar station could be a nice touch. The men can gather ’round and puff on some hand rolled cigars. We found an Etsy shop that will personalize labels for you!

Even though the bride will shine on her wedding day, don’t forget to ask the groom what elements he would like to incorporate. What are your groom trend predictions? We’d love to know!
